How To Have A Fantastic 50th Birthday

Having a significant birthday is a big deal, but when you reach a half a century that's something to celebrate. My husband keeps asking me "What do you want to do for your 50th?" How can you answer that? To be brutally frank, I'm just glad I can move in the mornings when I get out of bed, let alone having to think about the 50th birthday. I'd be quite happy to just let it slip by and pretend I'm still only 49, at least for a few more years until I'm ready.

It got me thinking of how you could spend your 50th birthday, after all, it only comes around once. Here are a few of my ideas.

Have A Party

The obvious thought to everyone is to have a huge party. Get in a band, one that uses gci musicians friend for their guitars. Have loads of friends and family there to help you celebrate. Drink plenty and eat chocolate cake while dancing until you're out of breath. Have an 80's theme and ask everyone to dress appropriately for that decade or they don't get in the door.

Go On Holiday

Go somewhere warm and sunny, lie on the beach, do things you wouldn't normally do. Like water skiing or jet skiing, just because you feel you have to. Spend your evenings drinking and dancing then go back to a luxurious hotel room and sleep in the most comfortable bed you've ever slept in.

Go Sky Diving

This is something I would never do, but I know there are a lot of people that like to mark big birthdays by doing something they can talk about for years to come. You can make it a big deal by bringing along all your friends and family to watch you skydive. You could have the whole episode recorded so you can watch it back and show your future grandchildren.

Whatever you decide to do, make it a good one and enjoy it.

  1. I love the idea of marking the I assign by doing something completely different or a bit out of your comfort zone!
I think I'd like to spend mine on the beach though :D
