Relax Your Beauty Regime And Still Look Fabulous With These Hacks

When it comes to the world of beauty, it can often feel as though we are bombarded with complex products on an almost daily basis. How many times have you watched a television advert for an anti-ageing cream, for example; only for it to mention chemicals and vitamins you have no idea about? Sure, a lot of it sounds good - but it's difficult to know whether it will actually benefit you in real life. As the average person is no expert on all the different ingredients that go into skincare, we can often feel a bit overwhelmed when we actually take the time to check out the back of a bottle. But would stripping back our skin and makeup routine still leave us looking great, or would it throw the whole thing out of balance? Here are some of the ways you can cut back on the chemicals and allow your skin to breathe, and see if it works for you.

BB Cream instead of foundation
You've probably heard of BB Creams before. When they first hit the shelves a couple of years ago, they caused quite a stir. But most of us who preferred a heavier coverage soon reverted back to trusty foundation. However, using too much foundation could actually be ageing your skin prematurely, and in more ways than one. If you already have a few wrinkles, foundation can be your worst enemy due to the way in which it sits in the lines of the face. This can give you an overly 'cakey' appearance. Plus, heavy foundation usage clogs the pores, making your skin look dull and dry, as well providing the perfect environment for breakouts. BB creams on the other hand, often actually include antioxidants that help keep skin healthy. So, you can have great coverage whilst knowing that your skin is still nourished.

Natural skincare
Knowing exactly how to nourish your skin these days can be a bit of a minefield. Some products leave it dry and itchy, others work wonders- but as there are so many chemicals involved in each product, it can be hard to know exactly what to avoid and what to use. In order to embrace what the natural world can do for your skin, you can try your hand at making you own remedies at home. Or, try a line of products such as Tropic Skincare, where the ethos is based around all natural ingredients.

Coconut oil for your hair
We've all experienced dry, brittle hair that just won't grow before. But whilst everyone's hair grows at different rates, piling on product after product can actually hinder its health rather than help it. Our hair is more fragile than we might think, and excessive use of products (and heat) can cause it to easily break off. Giving your hair a breather is a sure fire way to inject some life back into it. Continue to shampoo and condition as normal, and use natural products such as coconut oil in place of your regular serums and mousses.
