Knock 10 Years Off Your Age By Doing These 4 Things

There’s a well-known saying that it is often attributed to Buddha. It is, “The trouble is, you think you have time.” There is some disagreement as to whether it comes directly from Buddha, but it is a powerful message. We do think we have time, and so there’s a tendency to procrastinate. We put things off until a time when we look thinner, or more beautiful. And as we age, we yearn for the time we had more energy and fewer wrinkles.

The message is telling us that we don’t have time. There’s never enough time for anyone. Life passes us by so quickly. So we must seize the day and live for the moment. The following tips will knock ten years off your age and encourage you to embrace today.

1. Get Up Early

Don’t stay in bed at the weekend because you don’t have to get up for work. Treat your precious time off with the same discipline you reserve for your career. Get out of bed, make a plan, and enjoy every second of your free time.

Of course, to do this, you need to ensure that you’re rested. So don’t stay up every night until the early hours. It’s fine sometimes, but on most nights try for at least seven hours of sleep.

2. Revamp Your Beauty Regime

Remember when you were a teenager and you poured over glossy magazines for hours? You soaked up information on skincare, makeup, and hairstyles. If your beauty routine is stuck in a rut, breathe new life into it. Look for new products to suit your skin type. Invest in good anti aging products like Revitol anti aging cream. Find products that will eliminate fine lines and make you look and feel younger.

Spend a little time working on your appearance. Don’t just go through the motions barely glancing in the mirror. Look at what could be improved. Find makeup tutorials online and read up on the latest cosmetics trends. User a primer before applying your makeup and find a foundation cream to suit your skin tone.

3. Be Spontaneous

Do something completely spontaneous. For example:

  • Phone a friend you haven’t seen in years.
  • Write a letter to a dear friend who lives far away.
  • Take yourself on a date. Watch a film, go for a coffee, or go to the zoo.
  • Buy yourself some flowers.
  • Find a new, crazy shade of nail polish.
  • Go for a mani-pedi.
  • Fly a kite.
  • Go skinny dipping.
  • Get on a train and go somewhere new.
  • Walk on the beach and paddle in the sea.
  • Eat ice-cream.

4. Love

Human beings need the company of others. It’s in our DNA. Even the most introverted among us need human contact every now and again. Reach out to loved ones and enjoy spending time with them. It could be your partner, children, or friends. Invite people over for brunch. Throw a BBQ on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Go shopping with friends or walk around a museum.

We all age. There’s nothing we can do about that. But we can embrace how we live our lives. There’s no point in looking back or to the future too much. Sometimes you have to be in the present and live for the day.
